Transparency & Trust
How We Handle Your Digital Footprint at Leadory
In a world where data is currency, our contract with you is simple: we collect only what's necessary to connect you with the games you love, and we protect it with the same rigor we apply to game performance. This isn't a policy buried in legalese—it's the blueprint for our operational integrity.
We built Leadory for developers and players. That dual-purpose defines every line of code and every data point we handle. Your trust is our most critical asset, and this document details how we earn and maintain it.
The Data We Collect & Why
We operate on a principle of minimal data collection. Our systems are architected to function effectively without harvesting unnecessary personal identifiers. The data we do process falls into three clear categories, each with a specific, user-beneficial purpose.
Data Categories
Email address for login and developer verification. We never display your email publicly. Linked to your game submissions and library preferences.
Platform (iOS/Android/Steam), device model, and OS version. Used solely to power our compatibility engine and show you games that run on your hardware.
For studio accounts: studio name, location (for jurisdiction flags), public portfolio links. This data is public-facing and used for press and player discovery.
The Engineering Trade-offs
Every privacy decision involves a balance. Here are our key choices and how we mitigate the downsides.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Using Google/Apple login is convenient but means we rely on third-party identity providers. If they change policies or have a breach, we inherit that risk.
We never request OAuth scopes beyond basic profile & email. We also support traditional email/password auth as a fallback, giving you full control over your credential set.
Performance Telemetry
Collecting basic device specs helps developers optimize games, but it creates a privacy surface area that must be locked down.
Data is aggregated and anonymized immediately. No device is ever individually identifiable in our public or developer-facing analytics.
Platform Aggregation
We link your wishlist across iOS, Android, and Steam. This convenience requires centralizing preferences under one account.
You can unlink specific platform stores from your profile at any time. We also provide a full data export package to see exactly what is linked.
Common Privacy Missteps (And How We Avoid Them)
We've audited our own architecture against these typical industry pitfalls. Here’s how we’re designed to avoid them.
Collecting every click, scroll, and hover "just in case," creating a massive liability from unused data.
Selling or sharing user data with unnamed "partners" in complex, ever-changing deals.
Storing inactive user data "forever," which becomes a security risk and compliance burden.
Using dozens of SaaS tools for analytics, support, and email, each with its own data access.
Your Rights & Contact
Under GDPR and other relevant frameworks, you have specific rights regarding your data. We've designed our systems to make these rights practical, not theoretical.
- Right to Access: Export your complete data profile at any time.
- Right to Correction: Fix inaccurate profile information easily.
- Right to Erasure: Request account deletion; we automate the process.
- Right to Object: Opt-out of any non-essential data processing.
